Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Côte des Blancs - One of the oldest Champagne houses

Founded in 1760, Maison Delamotte is one of the five oldest Champagne houses. Located in the heart of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, a Grand Cru village in the Côte des Blancs, it benefits from privileged access to some of the finest Chardonnay terroirs in the world. As the sister house of Salon, Delamotte shares the same cellar master and the same philosophy of excellence, while offering a more accessible range.

Terroirs

Le Mesnil-sur-Oger forms the core of the sourcing. Its deep chalk soils give the wines their characteristic mineral tension. Sourcing also extends to neighboring Grand Cru and Premier Cru villages.

Viticulture

The vineyards are farmed using environmentally respectful practices, with particular attention paid to ripeness and grape selection.

Vinification

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve purity and freshness of fruit. Reserve wines, kept over several years, bring additional depth and complexity to the blends.

Ageing

Non-vintage cuvées rest on their lees for around three years. Vintage cuvées benefit from extended ageing, often exceeding seven years.

Style and ageing potential

Delamotte produces Champagnes of great finesse and remarkable minerality. The Blanc de Blancs is the emblematic cuvée, reflecting the purity of Chardonnay from Le Mesnil. Ageing potential ranges from ten to twenty years for vintage wines.
