Pascal Agrapart farms approximately eleven hectares across Avize, Oger, Oiry and Cramant. His biodynamic approach and parcel-specific vinification produce Blanc de Blancs of remarkable mineral precision and tension, placing him among the defining references for Grand Cru Chardonnay Champagne worldwide.

The Côte des Blancs at parcel level

Champagne Agrapart is based in Avize, at the heart of the Côte des Blancs, one of Champagne's great terroirs for Chardonnay. The domaine's holdings are spread primarily across Grand Cru villages such as Avize, Cramant and Oger, alongside Premier Cru parcels in Oiry.

Under Pascal Agrapart, the domaine progressively evolved toward a more terroir-focused and low-intervention philosophy, with increasing emphasis placed on old vines, biodiversity and individual parcel identity. Rather than seeking consistency through blending, many cuvées are vinified separately to preserve the nuances of each terroir. Wines such as Minéral, Vénus and Avizoise have become reference points for terroir-driven Blanc de Blancs Champagne.

Old vines play a central role inthe domaine's identity, particularly in Avize and Cramant, where certain parcels exceed sixty years of age and naturally produce extremely low yields. Today, Agrapart is widely regarded alongside Selosse, Dhondt-Grellet and Pierre Peters as one of the benchmark growers of the Côte des Blancs.

Biodynamics, low dosage and parcel vinification

Viticulture at Agrapart follows a biodynamic (Demeter certified) and largely organic philosophy centred on soillife, balanced ripeness and minimal intervention. Herbicides are avoided, soilsare ploughed regularly and harvesting is carried out entirely by hand with rigorous grape selection. Certain parcels are worked by horse.

Vinifications are carried outparcel by parcel using indigenous yeasts. Depending on the cuvée, fermentations take place in stainless steel tanks or old oak barrels, always with the objective of preserving freshness, texture and mineral expression. Dosage remains extremely low across the range, reinforcing the tension and chalk-driven precision characteristic of the domaine's style.

A word on Pascal Agrapart

Champagne Agrapart was founded in 1894 by Arthur Agrapart and remains one of the historic family estates of Avize. Pascal Agrapart represents the third generation and, since taking over alongside his brother Fabrice in the 1980s, has progressively transformed Agrapart into one of the benchmark producers of terroir-driven Blanc de Blancs Champagne. Through iconic cuvées such as Minéral, Avizoise and Vénus, he helped redefine the image of Chardonnay Champagne from the Côte des Blancs.
